The Snapchat app has evolved beyond expectations.

It’s still a platform to chat with your friends and send them messages, images, videos, stories, and more, but there are other options to share content and reach more users.

We are talking about the Snapchat public profile, a feature that allows Snapchat users to connect with an audience by creating shareable and relevant content.

In this blog post, we will teach you how to make a Public Profile On Snapchat so you can make the best out of this social platform.

After reading this piece of content, you will get valuable information about the following topics:

  • What are public profiles on Snapchat and what can you use them for;
  • How to create a public profile in easy steps;
  • How to customize and manage your public profile on Snapchat.

What’s a Snapchat Public Profile?

Imagine you are an active Snapchat user and you want to promote your content within the limits of this social media application.

Creating a Snapchat Public profile is the next step you must follow to achieve this.

The Public Profile option allows creators to publish their content while letting everyone else see it.

This includes photos, stories, videos, and more.

Chatting with a friend is fun, but having the ability to create an audience on Snapchat is just fantastic.

Let the World Discover Your Snapchat Account!

Having a Public Profile allows a user to use few features, such as the following:

  • Users can showcase Snapchat Lenses;
  • There’s the possibility to create Highlights;
  • Don’t want to mess up your Friend List? Just separate your friends from public followers!

Is it Possible for Everyone to Create a Public Profile?

When the company announced Public Profiles back in a Vidcon Presentation, all loyal Snapchat users were instantly excited.

At first, only verified creators could use Public Profiles, since Snapchat previously limited the persons who could or couldn’t have access to this service.

That’s different now - everyone can make Public Profile, even though there are some minor limitations, such as being over 18 years old and an account older than 24 hours.

Snapchat Public Profile Requirements

In order to create your Public Profile, you need to meet few simple criteria:

  • you need to be at least 18 years old
  • your Snapchat account needs to be few days old

If you just made a new Snapchat account, you won’t see the option to create public profile - just be patient and wait a few days.

Going Public vs. Public Profile: The Differences

There are two main differences between these two terms:

  • “Going Public” means that everyone can see the content of your account, even people who aren’t on your friends’ list. But, of course, they still need to know your username to access your account.
  • “Public Profile” means that new people can find you. The access to your account won’t be limited by the contacts you have in common with your friends or your specific location - your profile is not relevant for all users interested in your content.

Benefits of Having a Public Profile

Once your profile is ready to go, it’s time to innovate with new stories, images, and more.

At this point, it’s necessary to comprehend the ultimate goal of your Public Profile so you can create things strongly related to it.

Powerful Insights of Your Viewers

Besides getting notifications of the new people who follow you, you can also understand where they are from and what they are looking for in your profile.

Are they young? What other accounts are they following? What can you offer to make their experience better?

Answering all these questions will help you to have a more powerful profile.

Complete Access to the Lens Studio

Why settle for just a new Highlight when you can create Lenses on Snapchat?

Add jaw-dropping 3D effects to your story, interact with new characters in a photo, record a video that your community has never seen before.

You are now capable of doing all this!
