How to Know If Someone Blocked You on Snapchat?

The Snapchat app was a pop culture revolution when it came out.

Unlike other apps, every user has total control over their experience.

A user can create a new account at any time or program the app to delete the messages immediately after being seen.

It’s the same for blocking.

A user can block a friend or another account with just a couple of clicks.

Doing so won’t send a notification to the user you blocked.

But that raises the question, how to know if your account was blocked by a friend?

Open Snapchat, type your password, click log in and let’s find out if you are blocked or not.

Here’s what you need to do to tell if someone blocked you:

Search Their Name On The Snapchat App

The easiest way to find out is to search for the username that you suspect blocked you.

Use the search icon, the magnifying glass icon, to search for the username, if you can’t find the username, there is a high chance you might be blocked.

A blocked account won’t be able to see the profile that blocked it.

If searching shows no results, you’ve probably been blocked.

But if you see the add friends label, they simply deleted your account from their friends’ list.

We describe the search process on Snapchat in our other article. There are ways to find better search results.

Check Your Chat List

You should try to check the other person’s chat list.

If you are unable to see the recent conversations, you have been blocked.

Any user account that blocks another will have the chat deleted automatically, even saved messages!

Try To See Their Snapchat Score

If the chat still shows, and you can see their profile and see a recent conversation, you are not blocked.

But to make sure, try to see their score.

As long as it shows, you aren’t blocked.

Maybe they deleted you from their friends.

Check Your Friend List

You can check it by clicking on your profile picture, see your friend’s list and search for their username.

If you don’t see them, don’t panic! It may mean that they deleted their Snapchat account or simply removed you from it by accident.

A deleted account can be reactivated in the next 30 days, if they do so, the username will appear on your friend list again.

Check Their Stories

From the chat, try to go to the profile and try to see their stories.

If you know the upload frequently and don’t see a notification or anything, it’s a sign of you being blocked.

See Your Snapchat Account Messages

In short, if you don’t see the person’s full name or chat, you are blocked.

Not much you can do about it.

If you are the one blocking unwanted friends, remember that blocking a person deletes saved chat messages.

Search Their Name With A New Account

Use a second Snapchat account to search for the full name of the person that blocked you.

If you already have an existing Snapchat account click the search bar or search sign and

Pro Tip: You can create a new Snapchat account with the same number.

It’s an easy way to find if a person blocked you, as the username will immediately appear when you sync your contact list. Make your second Snapchat account.

What To Do If Someone Blocked You on Snapchat?

There is not much you can do if someone has blocked you.

Other users are free to block your Snapchat account if they feel like it.

Try to talk to them outside the digital sphere, or through any other social media app on your mobile device.

Ask them directly, and if they don’t respond, take that as a sign that they don’t want to talk to you.

After trying, leave that user alone.

What’s The Difference Between Blocked And Removed?

By being blocked on Snapchat you can’t contact the other person or see what they post.

You won’t even find the user when you search for them!

Being removed simply means that they deleted you from their friends’ list.

A user that removed you can add you back at any time.

By being removed, you’ll still see the chat on the conversations tab and even reply, comment, or save messages in the same chat.
